A Runaway Poem (Pennsylvania Gazette, 8-7-1746)

The music of the present season,
Has given me one good reason,
With all the carols and their rhymes,
Which can bother the ears sometimes,
To present here a small diversion,
And give to you history's version,
Of a little bit of poetic amusement,
In the form of an advertisement.
With lengthy description I will not bother,
And so remain, your humble author.
